My Camp Gladiator Experience – Day 4

Camp Gladiator - Day 4 - Not So Crunchy Mom

So, I was still sore, but it was better than the day before:)  I must be doing something right though because I got home from camp yesterday and it seemed like everything that could have made my day more difficult was…and I think it was just the enemy trying to get me discouraged.  But, after a good talk with my hubby to help me put things in perspective and a good girls night with my sweet friend Hayley, I was ready for Day 4!

For some reason again I had trouble sleeping, so I was a little tired today:(  I was excited about Day 4 until we started with like a million mountain climbers (you don’t want to know), something else painful I can’t remember, running and then toe taps on the curb…times 3.  CG likes to do multiple reps of things…and for some reason…really LOVES to end each rep with running!  And the funny part is that while I feel like I am not loving CG so much today during this part…Allyson (the trainer) said, we are almost done with the warm up…WHAT???  WARM UP?

The good news is that the second half of the workout was again very difficult, but it was broken up with multiple different activities.  Today was weight day, so we did a lot of different arm exercises with weights. Then we got to slam the fire hose:)  When I walked up and saw the hoses…I have to admit I was a little intimidated.  But, when that exercise came up…I LOVED IT!  It made me feel strong and also felt like a good way to let out any frustration you might have:)  We decided to take a pic of it to remember our first time. I realized at the end of the workout that the first half is the hardest for me and I feel like I am not going to be able to finish…but the second half is better and at the end I feel awesome because I finished it…I didn’t quit!  I know that it is only Day 4, but I can already start to feel a difference in what I feel like “I CAN DO”:)  I picked up my kiddos from school today and it had turned into a beautiful sunny day.  We got home and decided to ride bikes and walk outside…we even took a walk/jog around the block!  I hit my 10,000 steps by around 4:30PM.  Let me just say that last week I would have rather gone inside and relaxed versus taking a walk…but I really enjoyed it and was a little sad my littles didn’t want to try and jog with me:)  Small victories people…they are happening…it is exciting!  See you tomorrow…DAY 5…I will have finished my first goal for the week…5 camps in 5 days!

  1. SO proud of you, and I’m loving reading about your goals and experience! It’s so motivating to me. The hardest thing for me is doing the first thing. Getting started. Choosing what I’m going to do when I get to the gym. But I’m with you – once I really get going, it feels so great! Love you!!!

    1. Thanks Tori! I hope to be as disciplined as you in my health journey:) Thanks for your encouragement! And thanks for taking the time to read the blog:)
