Summer Movies 2016 – Keller / North Fort Worth

Summer Movies 2016 Keller North Fort Worth - Not So Crunchy Mom

So, you are so excited about the thoughts of summer…no alarm, no packing lunches, not as hectic of a schedule…lots of time for swimming and fun, right?  And then day 1 your kiddos start arguing and don’t want to play with the MILLIONS of options they have to play with…probably just my kids 🙂  And then you think…what am I going to do to help keep everyone happy over the next 2-3 months?  I have one option for your schedule…SUMMER MOVIES!

Here is the North Fort Worth area / Keller area, we have some movie theaters that have some pretty cheap options for the summer.  It can be a little overwhelming trying to figure out what will work with your schedule…so I have helped you out with a free printable of the schedule for the nearest theaters to us.  Don’t worry…if you are not in our area, I will have links for you to see if any of these theaters have options wherever you live!

  1.   The Movie House – Locations in Keller, Austin, Flower Mound and sometime soon McKinney.  They have a FREE summer camp at each of these locations.  The movie is on Tuesday and tickets are available at 9am – first come, first serve.  I believe the movie begins at 10am.  We will be attending this week so I will have a better understanding of how it works:)  I am hoping that I don’t get my kiddos all excited to go and then they run out of tickets 🙁
  2. Harkins Theater – Locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas.  They have Summer Movie Fun which is 10 movies for 10 weeks.  You can purchase a ticket for all 10 for $6 or you can just pay $1 per movie that you go to.  The movies are played at 9:45 AM every day Monday – Friday.  They have kids snack packs that are pretty good, but you can also purchase a loyalty t-shirt for $25 and get a free medium popcorn (or pay $1 to upgrade to a large) for each time to come to the movies.  They have MANY theaters open with the movie, but it is always good to get there early enough to get a good spot.
  3.   Cinemark TheaterLocations all over USA.  They offer a Summer Clubhouse at participating locations. You can purchase a ticket for all 10 movies for $5 or pay $1 per movie.  All movies start at 9AM and they play Monday – Thursday.  I haven’t ever been to this one because this is the first summer that it is available in our area.  Again, I will let you know how it all turns out:)

I also included the movies that are available at the Keller Summer Nights.  These are outside at the local town center.  For more details, visit here.

I hope you find one that will work for your family!  Let me know what you think and maybe we will see you there:)  There is a link below for the downloadable PDF as well.

Clean house…happy home…so they say…

cleanhousehappyhome What is it about a clean house that makes a happy home?  I have always struggled to keep my house “clean and picked up”.  It is not one of those things that comes easy for me.  I have some of “those friends”…you know the ones…you have them too…you go to their house and it always looks like it was just cleaned (EVERY TIME)!  No toys on the floor, a place for everything and everything has a place…or whatever the saying is.  I have always wanted my house to be picked up, but didn’t really have the discipline to get it there…and then it was so frustrating that as soon as you cleaned something…say the toilet…then someone would have the nerve to actually USE it!!  And then we are back where we started:)

Well, something that I have realized after a few (like 5 years) into this “staying at home / mommie” gig…that there is a little truth to the clean house…happy home…thing.  NOT the part about working your tail off to pick up all day, everyday, just for your kiddos to play with their toys and destroy it within a few minutes.  Nor the part that you get “angry” and feel like a drill sergeant when you ask your children to pick up so that it remains in super perfect condition. (like 100 times)

No, the part that I learned to be true for myself is…if I keep up with keeping my house “clean enough” that when people come over I don’t feel the need to apologize, they can use the bathroom without me inspecting it first (ha!) and it is warm and welcoming…it DOES in fact, make me happier!  Not because it is spic and span clean…but, it is like it releases my mind to actually accomplish other (sometimes fun) things!  On top of that…it makes me feel like I actually did something tangible that is noticeable and that I can check off on my (most of the time) invisible to do list:)

There is a lot to be said for a mommy without the “weight” of a messy, super dis-organized (we are still working on this), laundry pile filled, toys everywhere, mess of a house hanging over them.  Seriously, I cleaned my house yesterday after a couple crazy weeks of disorganization…just finished the last clothing load of laundry…which…yes, I just hung up, folded and put away!!  Yes…please send a celebration parade my way…it is complete…well, at least for the next 5 minutes (until my kiddos wakeup) 🙂  And really, it feels so nice to even be able to think about doing something else fun…like write this little note to you, possibly think about crafting or maybe even just sitting?!?  Who knew…

What are things that help you feel less “weight” as a mommy?  Are you a super clean mommy or a “clean enough” mommy?

Whole 30 – Round 2 Update…where there is grace :)

not-so-crunchy-mom-ninjago-birthday-cake We have been pushing through this Round 2 of the Whole 30 and have done pretty decent except for a few minor things (which we are having grace for the 2nd time around).  Although, I have learned something about myself, if I give in a little it is MUCH easier to give in A LOT!  I made it through my son’s birthday party where I cut and handed each person a piece of cake…where my hand was covered in delicious chocolate cake and icing…and NEVER even tasted it.  Like…there is still a portion of the entire cake in my kitchen right this moment and I haven’t tried to eat it.  I have wanted to…but haven’t done it.  (Feel free to break out in applause :))

Now, we made it through the birthday party and then had family activities on the next day (his actual birthday)…and we ate at his favorite restaurant…Pluckers.  If you have never been there, you are missing out…SUPER tasty wings and greasy foods…but really good.  Well, I was good and got “naked chicken with salad”…but then there was the sauce/dressing.  We were giving ourselves some grace, so it wasn’t a big deal.  But, then yesterday I found myself feeling like I could give myself “more grace” and then today…even worse.  So…I have realized that it is important not to be TOO hard on yourself, but that there is a reason it is like that…and you feel SO much better about yourself if you push through the temptations!

Yet another learning lesson that I am walking through on this journey and I think that it is another reason it seems SO MUCH easier for my hubby than me – He just decides and keeps focused…AND everyone he sees says something about the weight that he has lost!  I don’t know if it is because I am a woman…or just the way that I was created, but figuring out the emotional side of eating is even more difficult than cooking all the time!

I write all this, to hopefully NOT disappoint you, but to share what my journey is like and hopefully it will give you hope to start…and re-start…and continue!  After all, who likes those stories where everything is great all the time and no one makes a mistake?!?

Why Young Living is the best essential oil company for my family:

I was lucky because when I was introduced to Essential Oils, the idea was so new (to me) that I didn’t feel like I had to research every company out there.  It also helped that one of my best friends shared with me and I trusted her.  She introduced me to Courtney (the Oily Diamond Princess…who knows EVERYTHING!) 🙂  I am SO thankful that it was Young Living that I was introduced to!

not-so-crunchy-mom-young-living-seed-to-seal.jpg I know it is harder now that you have probably been approached (or heard of different companies out there) to try and figure out where to find quality information.

Let me share with you!  What makes Young Living COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from ANY other Essential Oil company?  Their 5 – Step Seed to Seal Quality Commitment!

And!  YL just launched a new site to share more about their “Seed to Seal” difference:  It is AMAZING!  It takes you through the 5 steps:

The site allows you to walk through each step with detailed descriptions of what is involved and even has videos about each stage!  It is truly amazing the way that they are committed to bringing quality to us and our family and friends.

One of my favorite statements from the site is the PROMISE TO FAMILIES (at the bottom of the page):

“We believe that you and your family deserve products that are genuine, free of synthetic chemicals, and of unmatched purity. Seed to Seal® is both a promise to you and a reflection of our sense of global stewardship.”

Through each step of our production process on both our own and partner farms, we use the most exacting standards possible to make our products, your life, and the earth better. Only one company can make the Seed to Seal promise. Only Young Living.

This just confirms that Young Living is the best company for me, my family and friends.  I feel confident in using their products and have seen AMAZING results in our family and SO many of our friends!  I hope it helps you in your journey to find the best resource for you and your family and friends.

Thank you Baby Steps to Essential Oils for making these great graphics to share!
